Welcome Friends of Brownlow

06 July 2021

Welcome to our new good cause… Friends of Brownlow!

Friends of Brownlow is the PTA (Parent Teacher Association) for Brownlow Primary School. The organisation fundraises in lots of different ways, including monthly cake raffles, school discos, recycling, non uniform days, second hand school uniform sales and various in school competitions throughout the school year to name but a few. Friends of Brownlow then use the money raised to support, enhance and maximise the learning potential and the mental wellbeing of all the children within the school with additional resources that are not provided for within the school budget or available through Government funding.

Over the past few years the organisation has used funds to purchase additional reading books for KS1, contributed towards new outdoor equipment for EYFS, supported their SEN & Pastoral team with much needed equipment, and brought iPads and theatre groups to the school for the children to enjoy.

I spoke to Samantha Sanders of Friends of Brownlow about why they chose to sign up for Melton Community Lottery, and why other good causes should sign up as well and here is what she had to say:

‘The past 18 months have been a very difficult time for everyone, especially the children and schools.  Fundraising in our 'normal' ways has been hit hard and so we have had to think of different ways in which we can raise the much needed funds to support our children and school.

Melton Community Lottery is such a wonderful way in which to raise funds and support the school but also to support the wider community in which our school and the children reside.  What better way to help that sign up for the lottery!’
